Nguyễn Thị Thảo My (22 tuổi) sống tại Vũng Tàu sở hữu gương mặt ưa nhìn sau đại phẫu hàm hô. Hơn nữa, sau sự thành công này, rất nhiều người cho rằng cô giống với diễn viên nữ chính người Thái Lan trong phim Hoàng Cung. Bộ phim đang gây sự chú ý của rất khán giả màn ảnh nhỏ.

Thảo My là cô gái trẻ, giàu nhiệt huyết nung nấu trong mình những dự định về một tương lai rộng mở. Không may mắn thay cho cô gái lại bị mắc khiếm khuyết hàm hô bẩm sinh.

“Ban đầu mẹ em rất quyết liệt, mẹ sợ em bị nguy hiểm, sợ còn xấu hơn hay là có biến chứng gì thì gia đình không có khả năng cứu chữa” – My nhớ lại.
Để cả gia đình đồng ý, Thảo My đã tìm hiểu rất kĩ càng về phương pháp phẫu thuật hàm hô, nguyên nhân và kĩ thuật áp dụng. Cùng với đó, My cho ba mẹ xem hình ảnh gương mặt thực tế của những người thành công sau khi phẫu thuật hàm, trong đó có vũ công Lan Nhi, ca sĩ Thùy Dương mà My rất thần tượng. Nhờ đó mà ba mẹ bị thuyết phục.

Ngay từ bước vào những năm trung học cơ sở, Thảo My ngày càng nhận thức được sự quan trọng của ngoại hình, cùng với khuôn hàm bị hô nặng, My vô cùng tự ti về bản thân mình.
Khi chưa phẫu thuật My là người sống khép kín, dù luôn nung nấu trong mình nhiều hoài bão. Thảo my kể lại: “Nhiều lần đi xin việc bị từ chối, nhận lại sự thiếu thiện chí từ nhà tuyển dụng. Dù có kinh nghiệm nhưng vì ngoại hình không có nên bị thua thiệt so với người khác. Đi xin việc 2 nơi đều bị rớt từ vòng phỏng vấn”.

Trong chương trình Livestream trực tiếp, rất nhiều khán giả theo dõi đã đặt câu hỏi cho Thảo My về kinh nghiệm sau khi phẫu thuật như: Bao lâu sau phẫu thuật thì có thể ăn nhai; Phẫu thuật có bị ê buốt răng, ảnh hưởng ăn nhai không; Giọng nói có bị thay đổi hay không; Dây thần kinh hàm có bị ảnh hưởng hay không….
